LONG JUMP RECORDS With reference to the records in long jumps, a correspondent writes to the “Feilding Star”: I should like to point out that the record long - jump for Wanganui Collegiate School is 20fr. 101 m., made by W. H. Woon in 1887, B. C. Humphries being close behind with a jump of 20ft Bin in 1912. MONSTER SPORTS COOK’S GARDEN’S, SATURDAY. Next Saturday will see the biggest sports day held in Wanganui for years past. There will be (55 events of all descriptions, including running, jumpcycling, etc., by competitors from primary schools, secondary schools and members of the Wanganui Amateur Athletic Association. There will be spectacular events such (is bridgebuilding by the Boy Scouts and gymnastics by the Y.M.C.A. The Garrison Band will play selections and afternoon tea will be procurable. Great interest is being evinced in these monster sports and a record crowd is expected on Cook’s Gardens.
