BRITISH TRADE UNIONS.
UNIONISTS URGE AMENDMENTS. IX3NDON, Feb. 25. Despite warnings from a section of the Unionist Press, the party meeting of the Central Council of the Conservative Union Association passed a resolution urging the Government to take immediate steps to amend the Trade Union Act of 1913; also supporting Mr MacQuistcn’s Political Levy Bill. Working men members opposed the latter motion, and urged that the subject should not be. reopened, but after discussion the motion was carried by a huge majority. One speaker was cheered when he declared: "I wish the Government would give us a lead on the question. If it does not, we will give them all the lead necessary.”
