COSTLY OPIUM

[Per Press Association ] AUCKLAND, May 16. Two Chinese —Ming Yui and Ah Chew —appeared at the Police Court charged with having been found in possession of opium in a form suitable for smoking. At first they pleaded not guilty, but after hearing the evidence pleaded guilty. The Magistrate, remarking that It was not a bad case, fined Yui £l5 and Chew £lO, with costs. They were given a month to pay.
