EXPENDITURE ON AGRICULTURE.
NEW ZEALAND LEADING AUSTRALIA. A statement which has just been compiled by a special committee in New South Wales shows the expenditure on agriculture in the several States of the Commonwealth and New Zealand. The figures given for the Dominion cover the years 1918-19, and prove that New Zealand is doing her part in encouraging agricultural advancement. The figures are as follows: i i (
The percentage of expenditure from revenue on agriculture to the total Government expenditure shows that \'ew works out at 2.23, Victoria 4.53. total Australian States 2 98, New Zealand 3.10. This per head of population gives New South Wales 2/5, Victoria 3/7, total Australian States 3/, New Zealand 4/10 and whole of Australasia 3/4.
