FRANK AMOORE'S SONG RECITAL.
Mr Frank Amoore made his first appearance on a Wanganui concert platform last evening. The night was wild, which interfered with the attendance, but the singer had a very cordial reception at the Opera House. Mr Amoore chose a -programme which would tax the capacity of any singer. "Heary" work bulked largely, but there was also a good admixture of popular songs. In all, Mr Amocre gave a good account of himself, and he was warmly applauded. Mr Amoore has a cultured tenor voice, which he uses with artistic skill. Within a good range his voice has a pleasing sweetness and resonance, but the top notes in some of the operatic and oratorical selections seemed to be rather* much for the singer. Mr Amoore has evidently made a deep study of voice production, and special reference must be made to the excellence of his enunciation.* Should Mr Amoore revisit Wanganui under more auspicious circumstances he rmay anticipate a hearty greeting. Last evening's programme was enhanced by Mr Shepley and Miss Violet Price. They played a j violin and concertina mazur, and Mr Shepley played two concertina solos. Miss Price accompanying on the piano. Mrs P. Fredric, in addition to playing Mr Amoore's accompaniments, played two excellent pianoforte solos.
