ILLEGALLY ON PREMISES

(Per Press Association.)

WELLINGTON, May 12

In the cftse of Howard Nattrass, charged with being found on the premises of William Strangman, the Magistrate (Mr. Fraser) said the' suggestion was something in the nature of abduction or a similar intention. His Worship was convinced that the defendant was present. He did not think the action of defendant was done in good faith. His proper course would have been to apply to the Supreme Court for a writ of habeas corpus. No man had a right to go to a house and beset it to get a girl away, it was not a case for imprisonment. Defendant was ordered to be bound over to keep the peac© for 12 months, for the sum of £200 and one surety of £200. The defendant was also ordered to pay the costs of the proceedings.
