WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN.

VENIZELOS EXPOSES CONSTAN=

TINE.

Received August 31, 12.30 a.m ■ ATHENS, August 30

Venizelos, in a speech, said: I advised King Constantine to enter the war in September 1914, having Britain's assurance that Greece would be protected against a sortie by the Turkish fleet, . Before the first attack on the Dardanelles there were only 13000 Turks on Gallipoli. I wanted to send an army corps, which could have occupied Gallipoli in five days and captured Constantinople in a fortnight.
