LAMBING AX MA*^AWKiva
108 PER CENT.
A correspondent from the Mar.gaweka district writes: 'The lambi'ig here is 108 per cent., which is a record; the next best being 105, the year before last. 1 think the Jairbnig all over this district will bo over 100 per cent. The ewes here are rather poorer than usual during lambing. I have had a great deal of- trouble with 'extrusion of the vagina' amongst the ewes. We lost a good many, but the adjoining neighbours lost none through the same cause, and very few through other causes. I notice all the ewes we lose from this cause carry a lot of fat inside, though some of them do not show much condition :out?,ide. This trouble is practically confined to aged owes carrying twin lambs. We had more snow than usual this last winter, and it kept the gra.r^ back, and it wa^ later in coming than usual, but now thera is olentv of feed."
