• f United Press Association.—Copyright 1 SYDNEY, Oct. 22. Tho annual session of the Congregational Union discussed the attitude of the Church to the Labour movement. The conflict between organised Labour •and Capital was deplored, and a united effort by the churches to discover a remedy was advocated. One reverend -speaker advocated nationalisation.

The Diocesan Synod discussed a proposal to appoint a committee to meet the representatives of the Labour movement in regard to the alleged hostility of tho latter to the Church. The mover of tho resolution, the Rev. Cleary of Waihi, said the miners there had no time. Whatever for the church. D urine the strike not 60 out of, the 1500 str£ kers could be seen in the six churches <k the town. An amendment , moved by the Rev Bentty. that the next business bo proceeded with, was lest Bishop Cleary urged the Rev Cleary to withdraw Irs motion in favour of" a proposnl to nnpoint a Social Questions Committee for the purpose of watching affairs and taking notion where aiocossnry. He wished it to be understood that he. was not influenced by fear of rnpctinrr the LaTibur Party. He thought tho latter knew this.
