PALMERSTON N., July 1
The Mendelssohn centenary was celebrated here to-night by a performance by the Palmerston Choral Society of "St. Paul/ under the baton of Mr Maurice Cohen, in the presence of an audience including Lady Plunket. The proceeds are to be devoted to the Plunket Nurse and District Nurse funds. A very fine performance was given, about 200 participating. The soloists were:—> Messrs Hill and Parkes (Wellington), Mesdnmesi Bath and Harper and Miss Drew (Palmerston).
