DUNEDIN FANCIERS' SHOW.
(Per Press Association.)
, _ DUNEDIN, June 18.. Mr W. Crane, of Sydney, judge of dogs at the show, says the exhibition is ,a revelation to him. It is one of the best he has ever seen. The spaniels were a wonderful class, and excelled anything in New South Wales, if not in Australia. Fox terriers were splendidly made, the bitches being particularly choice. The whining bulldogs were magnificent types of-the national breed. He contends that the Dominion is particularly suited for the breeding of. St. Bernards.
The. Dunedin Fanciers' Slioav is a great success. The North Island contributes largely to the entry list, in which nearly every town in Canterbury and Otago is well represented. Poultry entries eliow a decline, due to many of the breeders having gone out. of the fancy line. - In Game, Mr Solomon, K.C. (Dunedin) took the honours for Black Red cock, -while in Orpingtons a black hen, shown by Mr Henry Ive, was awarded premier position. The principal trophy given by the South Island Bulldog Club for the best bulldog exhibited was won by F. E. Watson's Greenstone. Menzie's Glendeli Bargemistress was' adjudged the best bull bitch, and secured the silver cup presented by the Wellington Bulldog Club."
