The minutes of tho previous meetinowere read and confirmed. TRANSFER.—Transfer of H. Scally t^«o^o S to Kia Toa granted. JM.foJ!/lS.— It was resolved that a full inquiry be made into the matter ot the Rep. jerseys. There was considerable d'seusßion on the subject ORDERING OFF.-Mr G. Thompson wrote re thw ordering off of Scally and1 KeJlaliPr.—Both were- in attendance and gave evidence.—Mr Ba-sett moved that Scally bo suspended till the end of the season.—Mr Ashcroft moved as an amendment that Scally be warned off for three seasons. He said he had ones been lenient with a player and he saw his- error. He thought that the Uaiion should fake definite step.? to check the dirty play that goes on in tho ninior games. This was vey noticeable last Saturday. Mr Ashcroft said the matter was much discussed at the College, and if there was^much more of it the College would withdraw their teams and the Union would lose the use of the grounds.—Mr Furrie seconded the amendment- aixl spoke in the same strain, as also di.d Mr Gray Mr Bassett then withdrew his motion—Mr Sprigg-ns then moved as an amendment that Scally be suspended for 5 years. He said he had weighed the facts carefully. The barrackers were to be beamed to a certain extent. At the last meet-' ing the Union had "been too lenient with one of the players and he was glad to hear Mr Ashcrofl acknowledge that he had made a mistake in advocating leniency towards the offending player. From the story of the culp:its he- was convinced that their story was concocted. Tt had been said that footballers were leaving the game and playing eoccer and; hockey, and it wasthb duty of the Union to keep up the standard of play. - If they dealt with offenders too leniently they would ohly'have the JSe^ Zealand Union down on them (the Wanganui Union) again.—Mr Perrett seconded the amendment.—Mr Simpson said -he regretted to have to second the motion. Since Thursday football had started there had been a great number of complaints of rough play. Five years'" suspension- was a long time, but i£ would not take niuch persuasion tcx make him vote for it.—When put tfte amendment was lost; and the motion of three* years'' suspension "was carried. Kellahor was suspended for 12 months'.
REP. MATCHES—It was arranged to play the Awarua Union '.on July 24tli. It was r<solved to reply to the Awaiua Union that the local Union flbuld not sco its way to give them any financial aid. A match with Taranaki was arranged for August 7th. , It was resolved to ask Rangitikei to play on July 17th; -
KAIE.R AU . CLUB—Permission was granted Kainr'au>to play; the Hibernians on No. 1 ground, provided the ground was clear at 3 p.m. NEW FOOTBALL—It was resolved to thank Messrs Partridge and Co. for the present'of a football.
CUNNINGHAM CASE. — Another letter was, received from ihe-Bawko's T3ay Union declining to adjudicate as iti was the -affair .of the Wanganui Union—-Mr Bassett moved that the matter bfe refe red to the New Zealand Union. All correspondence to be forwarded. .
A request was granted to two teams oF the College to play Palmerston Korth on the 24th:
