Neither did record + breaking a s the wind affected them, their cards bemg 86 and 85 respectively, but the fight was a good one. Nevertheless Barrand jumped away with alead of three up at the 4th hole; when Duncan came and at the 6th was ■ eV j 4n rhe next two holes wer© haired, and 19 was played. Duncan tipped his drive, but m spite of a splendid recovery the local man won the hole and the championship. - The ladies' championship was won by *£s.Bevan 3 of Otaki, from Miss Una Williams (Wellington). The ladies teams' match resulted in a tie between the Wanderers and Otaki at 433, the Wanderers winning in the play off. The team consisted of Mies Beatson (Hastings), Misses Simpson and (Wellington), Miss Biddely Miss Wood (110-25—85) won the la»jips stroke handicap. P. McHardy and L. A. Abraham (81 —B—/3) won the four-ball match. There were large entries and the meeting was a great success. Lady Plunket presented the prizes at a big gathering on the course.
