DUNEDIN, September 23.
A dwelling house, the property of Mrs. Ledger wood, who is at present in Wellington, 'was totally; destroyed! at three o'clock this morning. The house wasi valued at £350, and insured in an office unknown at £200. The furniture was valued at £230 and insured in the Victoria Company for £180. The next house was damaged to the extent of £50. It is insured in the Liverpool, London and Globe for £200, and the furniture in an office unknown for £100.
