MOORE BEFORE THE COURT.

WELLINGTON, August 18.
T. Moore, who last, week pleaded guilty, to sending- threatening letters to Sir Joseph Ward, was brought before the Supreme Court today. Evidence was called by counsel for prisoner as to the latter's good character and to show that hi« letter had only been Avi-itten with a view to directing immediate attention-to his report on meat export which he had submitted tothe Government.
Sir Joseph Ward gave evidence that there was no desire to keep Moore's report back. As a matter of fa«t, it was a very intelligent report, and had been sent on to' the Government Printer.
His Honor said it wouM be necessary for him to know something more about Moore. He wanted to have Mm medically examined, and also would like to have some information a-boufc the faith healing propaganda prisoner had recently been currying da. The case was adjourned for a. week, Moore in the meantime tiu be examined by the doctors, and the probation officer to .prepare a report for his Honor.
