AUCKLAND, August 18
A boardiing-house^in! Hobson street, owned by the Sheenan. estate and occupied by Mr. L. Kinkella, was on. fire on Saturday night. One room was gutted. After the fire was extinguished kerosene was found spilled on the floor in one of the bedx'oomß downs-tains, and a broken kerosene lamp on the floor of the bedromn, which was guttedl- The furniture wais; insured for £150 in the Commercial Union.
BLENHEIM, August 18,
An accommodation! house at Okaramio, known as the Half-way House, was totally destroyed by fire on Saturday evening. The cause of the fire was a mishap witih an! oil lamp, whicli flared up in the absence of the people of the house and ignited the ceiling.
