RANGITIKEI NOTES.

MARTON, Friday. At the Court- this morning before Mr Greenfield, S.M., Mr W. Hedges was fined 2e 6d and costs 7s for riding .bis bicycle on the footpath in Wellington Road. Mr Tuke, of Turakina, was fined 20.s and costs 7s for driving a horse with sore shoulders. A. P. Smith, of Greatford, charged with attempted criminal assault on an Assyrian woman, was defended by Mr Cohen. Evidence was tendered for the prosecution by the informant, a porter named Gleeson and M. CoughHn (coacb/:dnyer), and for the defence by j. Major, W- Heads and S. Dean. The Bench considered accused "had been guilty of indiscretion in allowing the woman in liis qffice fc-f such a time, but that tliiere was nqt sufficient evidence to commit. Messrs Thompson and Po. l^a-ve just to hand the choicesijj/ consignment of gift and prize book's, winch, £hey are disposing "of to school cpniiniittees and the public at lowest city prices.
