YOLUNTEERN G.
WANGANUI GUARDS,
Some twenty odd members of the above Company roicd up last Tuesday and Friday mornings to fire the first competition in a series of three, for a trophy presented by Mr J. McLachlnn. The ranges were 200 yds and 500 yds, seven shots at each range. Tho weather on each morning was perfect, and some good shooting resulted. The following are the highest scores: —

Comrie 21 13 8 3 — 15 The following handicaps have been declared for tho second competition, to take place this and Friday mornings, at 5 o'clock. Lieut. Harper, Col. -Sergt. Kite, Sergts. Vine and Gage and Corporal Ansley, scratch ; Private MCMurray, 2 points ; Sergeants Swanger and Bourne and Bugler Hotter, 3 points ; Corporal Miller, 5 points; Privates Fowler, Ellison, N. Tauri and K. Tauri, 6 points ; Corporal Comrie, Privates McElwain, Chadwick, and G. Harris, 8 points. The remainder of the Company 10 points.
