A CONSTABLE'S DUTIES.

Wellington; December 5. Constable Leahy ( stationed at Stratford died in tho train last night on flis way to Wellington. He had b,een in tbo New Plymouth hospital for some time, and latterly his brain gave way. Dr Tripe eaid lie could not suggest that anything cou'd be done by the attendants in the train to save life, lhe jury roiucned a verdict iv accordance with the medical testimony, andaddoi a rider calling tho Police Department's attention to the appaiont overwork from which the deceased was suffering, and which seems to require thut further assistance) should be given in such cases.
