TURAKINA v. WARRENGATE SCHOOL.

The boys from the above schools .met at Fordell on Saturday last in a friendly game of football, the Turakina boys arriving by the 2.30 p.n\ train. A Btart was immediately made, Turakina having the kick off. The game for the first 20 minutes (talk included) was fast and furious, when J. Harrison, with a welltimed run, obtained a try for Warrengate, also taking the kick at goal, at which he failed. The score was not increased when half-time was called. In the second spell Turakina had all the best of the game. H. Chirk potted a goal, and E. Hogg and W. Day soon obtained a try each for Turakina, neither, however, being converted. After a bit of loose play on both sides time was called. Several very promising young players made their appearance, and when I mention Scannell, Clark, Hogg, Collins and Day for Turakina; McNicol (2), Budge, Abbiss, and Harrison for Warrengate, I think they will be heard of in Cup matches, in the future. Messrs A. Mdrse and Duigan for Warrengate and Turakina acted as umpires, and Mr E. Morse as referee. The visitors were entertained by the local team at tea, and returned home by the 5.30 train, giving three hearty cheers for their entertainers.
