A vote of confidence was earned by 4i to 4, WeijLinghou, July 27. Mr Alexander Wilaon has withdrawn from the contest for Wellington South and suburbs. Blenheim, July 27 Mr S J. Macalister, the Liberal candidate for Wairau, received a vote of confidence from i\ meeting of working men last night. Wesxport, July 27 Mr Eugene O'Oonor received a vote of confidence here. He denies that a vote of no confidence was passed at Denniston. Auckland, July 27 Mr J. M. Shera addressed the Auok* land Weßt electors to-night, when a vote of thanks and confidence in him was passed. He favoured retrenchment in all the departments, and declared him* self a follower of Sir George Grey. Dunedin, July 27 Mr Hodge addressed the Dunedin Central electors this evening and rev ceived a vote of confidence. He announced himself as a Government supporter, because of the two evils he chose . the least. He indicated that rather than split the Protection vote he might retire in favour of Mr Fitchett. A requisition wad forwarded to Sir J. Yogel to-day, tbtoug;; the Mayor, requesting him to a<iorcrts a meeting at Duuedin.
