GREYTOWN

RETURNED SERVICE MEN DANCE HELD IN THEIR HONOUR (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a large attendance at the Greytown Town Hall last night when the Citizens’ Committee held a social gathering and dance in honour of returned service men. The Mayor, Mr A. AV. Horton, extended a welcome to Warrant Officer P. Anker, Flight/Sgt. AV. Jordan and Private T. Montgomerie. Mr S. C. Shedden and Mr J. F. Thompson also spoke. The returned men thanked the ladies’ committee who had regularly sent parcels. Privates N. Fell and T. Te Tau and Driver Henare Tehima received gifts from the Citizens' Committee and the Women’s Division Of the Farmers’ Union, for whom Mrs Beu extended good wishes. Udy’s orchestra supplied the music and Mr Shedden acted as M.C. A z ocal items by Privatp To Tau were much appreciated. ■. Patriotic Dance The Morison’s Bush-Battersea War Services Committee will hold a “shipwreck dance” on Monday evening. Special novelties are being introduced.
