PERSONAL ITEMS (“Times-Age” Special.) . At a meeting of the local committee of the R.S.A.. the following officers were elected: —Chairman and trcasui - er. Mr F. L. Bari” secretary, Mr C. A. Chennells. Reference was made to the valuable services rendered to the As- ' sociation by Messrs A. T. Murray and H. J. Rathbone, who had retired from office. Outbreak of Fire. A fire occurred at 9 o’clock this morning in a house occupied by Mrs Edwards in Garrison Street, but was extinguished by the brigade before much damage was done. Hockey. The following are the Carterton ladies’ hockey teams for Saturday:—Seniors: M. Ward, R. Hopkins, F. Jensen. D. Dunce, R. Steven. M. McPhee, D. George, P. Jensen, L. Hopkins, B. Parker, L. Crawley; emergency. A r . Ward. Juniors: J. Daysh, F. Hopkins. B. Goodin, L. McLean, N. Andrews, B. George, A. Thompson, D. Jensen, L. Parker, D. Rofe, J. Paterson. Gathering at Parkvale. At the Parkvale Hall last evening a “parcel evening” was tendered to Miss Ngaire Williams. Mr D. Jensen was M.C. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Mr J. Herrick and Miss A. Williams, and a lucky soot by Mr McKenzie and Miss A. Hansen. Mr E. T. Bliss asked Miss AVilliams to open the parcels, Mr H. Cadwallader returning thanks. On behalf of the residents of the Parkale district, Mr C. Jensen, Senr.. presented Pte. A. Wadham with g wristlet watch. Dance extras were played by Miss B. James and Messrs Mclntosh and Oates. Supper was provided by the ladies of the district.
