PERSONAL ITEMS (“Times-Age” Special.) At the farewell gathering to Mrs C. M. Childs at Mauriceville East on Saturday night there were present three daughters of Mrs Childs. Mrs A. Mitchison, Miss Judith Childs (Wellington) and Mrs Patricia Bigley (Auckland). On the Saturday afternoon the Mauriceville East school children, assisted by the school committee and mothers, gave Mrs C. M. Childs a tea party. There were a number of musical items. Nathy o‘Niell presented Mrs Childs with a small token of esteem on behalf of the children and thanked Mrs Childs for her assistance over the past years. The chairman of the school committee, Mr Geo. McWhirter, spoke in a similar strain. Mrs Childs in reply thanked the children and emphasised her regret at leaving behind hei such well behaved pupils. Miss D. Gregg has taken up temporary residence here as head teacher of the East School. Miss E. M. James is the guest of her sister, Mrs J. O. Baine.
