ORDER OF ODD FELLOWS LOYAL HEART OF OAK LODGE (“Times-Age” Special.) Sister M. E. Eagle presided over an exceptionally well attended meeting of members of the Loyal Heart of Oak Odd Fellows Lodge last night. Sick pay and accounts amounting to £24 11s 4d were passed for payment. Two candidates were initiated and given a hearty welcome. P.G. Bro C. E. White acted as conductor. Correspondence was received from Dr W. J. C. Wells and Bros Lindop, Wakelin and De Lacey were deputed to wait upon Dr Wells in connection with certain lodge matters. The officers elect for the ensuing six months—Bros. Rathbone, N.G., J. Newbould, V.G., Sister Eagle, 1.P.N.G., and Bro J. Lenihan, Warden—were installed by thel retiring I.P.N.G. Bro W. McPherson, and given lodge honours. Subordinate officers were elected as follows: R.S.N.G., Sister K. Mitchell; L.S.N.G., Bro. A. J. Lindop; R.S.V.G., Bro W. McPherson; Guardian, Bro J. A. Stevens. P.D.G.M. Bro C. J. DeLacey was appointed delegate to represent the lodge at the annual district conference to be held at Brittania Lodge Room, Clyde Quay, Wellington, on Saturday, June 10. Supper was served. COMING-OF-AGE PARTY MISS L. HOPKINS HONOURED A very pleasant time was spent in the St. Mary's Hall, Carterton. on Saturday when the friends of Miss Lola Hopkins gathered to honour her com-ing-of-age. Amongst those present were friends from New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Wellington and Masterton. The presenting of the key was made by Mr S. O’Connor, followed by everyone singing "21 Today.” Items were rendered by Mr and Mrs A. Kay. Mr F. Harrington, and Miss Alma Davey and Master Daniel Davey of Masterton. Dancing was enjoyed to music supplied by the After Beat Orchestra from Masterton. A lucky spot dance was won by Miss D. Birchall and Mr B. Birchall.

Personal Items Mrs R. Banks, Senr., of Anderson Road, Carterton, celebrated her 90th birthday on Thursday last, when a party was held. The health of Mrs Banks was toasted. Mrs Banks can relate many stirring tales of early New Zealand, especially concerning Wakefield, where she was born. Mrs Banks has resided in Carterton for the past 45 years. Mrs Banks, who received many congratulatory mesages on her birthday, is still hale and hearty. L.A.C. J. Billington, of Carterton, who saw service in the islands, has returned home fit and well. Pte. Hindrup has sent word to friends in Carterton that he has reached his destination overseas and was enjoying good health. At the Dalefield Hall tonight, Pte. J. Conwell will be the guest of the residents of the district. Udy's Orchestra will provide the music for the dancing and the ladies of the district will be in charge of the supper arrangements. A “parcel evening” in honour of Miss Vgaire Williams, on the eve of her marriage, will be held in the Parkvale Hall tomorrow night. At the same gathering it is proposed to make a presentation to Pte. A. Wadham. REGENT THEATRE “WILD BILL HICKOK RIDES.” Tonight the thrilling Western drama “Wild Bill Hickok Rides” will be shown with Bruce Cabot and Constance Bennett in the chief roles.
