DAYLIGHT AIR ATTACKS ON GERMANY AND NORTHERN FRANCE. FI YING FORTRESSES BLAST FRANKFURT. LONDON, February 8. Allied aircraft from Britain today resumed their attack against the European fortress in considerable strength. One American force of heavy bombers—Flying' Fortresses—attacked the German industrial centre of Frankfurt, making the third daylight attack on the place in ten days. Another force of heavy bombers —Liberators with hundreds of other Ailed aircraft, went for targets in Northern France. Nearly 200 American medium bombers —Marauders—attacked the Pas de Calais area. They went.over in four waves, under an unbrella of fighters. Excellent bombing results were reported. Not one Marauder was lost. R.A.F. light bombers and fighterbombers also took part in the day s operations and American Marauders made a second attack, supported by British and Allied fighters.
