SOCIAL CLUB

MEETING AT KOPUARANGA. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The annual meeting of the Kopuaranga Social Club was held at the residence of Mr and Mrs S. J. Clarke recently, when the president (Mr S. J. Clarke) presided over a fair attendance of members. It was unanimously decided not to hold the Settlers’ Ball this year, but to conduct a series of fortnightly dances. The proceeds from these dances are to be devoted to Hall repairs, necessitated by the earthquake. An energetic junior committee have the arrangements for the first dance well in hand. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows:—President, Mr S. J. Clarke; joint secretaries, Mrs Clarke and Mrs C. P. Jarrett; committee, Mesdames Jarrett, Hewitt, Misses Westhead (2), M. Clarke, Messrs F. Hewitt and B. Fenemor. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to Mr and Mrs Clarke for the use of their home.
