PERSONAL ITEMS (“Times-Age” Special.) The friends of Mrs W. G. Judd, of Tane, will be pleased to hear that she is progressing satisfactorily after her recent operation. The condition of Mr J. P. Lowes is again causing his relatives anxiety. Messrs A. F. G. Kilgour (Alfredton) and Eric Ryan (Pahialua) left by the Maunganui on a fortnight’s trip to the Islands. Mr Kenneth Nilsson, of Woodville, whose death was recently reported as the result of a motor accident, was the son of a former resident of Eketahuna, Mr Henry Nilsson. He was also a grandson of Mrs Jens Nilsson who is the only one of the pioneer settlers still living in the Eketahuna district. MINIATURE RIFLES WIN FOR EKETAHUNA. Eketahuna competed against Konini last night at Eketahuna in a ByrneShield match which was won by Eketahuna with a majority of 6 points. The highest score was obtained by Mr W. Walker, of Konini. with 99. At the supper Mr Daken (Konini.) thanked the Eketahuna Club for supper and congratulated them on their two wins in the series. Mr Hornblow (Eketahuna) suitably replied. POST OFFICE OFFICIALS FAREWELL GATHERING. Members of the Eketahuna Post Office staff met last week to bid farewell to two officers of the exchange stall' who have been transferred to other towns. Mr A. J. Low. who has been transferred to the position of exchange clerk. Lower Hutt, left on Monday and Mi' T. M. N. Hammond left to take up a similar position at Ormondville last Friday. Mr R. Y. Boyes, postmaster, in presenting Mr Low with an alarm clock and Mr Hammond with a fountain pen on behalf of their fellow officers, wished them every success for the future. He also welcomed Mr G. T. Mitchell from Bulls. who replaces Mr Hammond. Messrs Low and ITammond suitably replied.
