Plug Dispensers.
To the Editor of the Standard.
Sir,— In your issue of the 6th instant, I noticed a letter signed by one, Owen Haycock, in which he liilicuies plug dispenser*. Restates that, there is nothing bitter than the plug and nothing so quick ; but 1 lay that is all bosh ami bunkum. I don’t uy that there is much time saved la using a plug dispenser ia eicohng a new fence, but I do say that there is a lot of time saved in using a plus dispenser in straining an old fence, and practical men h:n-- come to the same conclusion. He also states that a post 10 by 10 or i‘2 hj I'2 wid st m I plugging ; so it may, but dees everybody use that size post; 1 say no, (or the simple reason that lotara is not so plentiful as it ti ed In he. Tie (iovernment for instance use only 6 by 0 on the railway, Now, sir, 1 am net git, g to "blowing,” but if Mr Owen llayceck will call on me any Saturday evening (as 1 am away in the week), 1 will show him a “wrinkle’’ in wire straiuiog, and convince him that a plug is a nuisance compared with my plug dispenser, then perhaps he will think twice another lime before he rachis into print about a tiling he had never sett. Hoping sir, you will give publicity to these few remaikb in fair play to myself.
I am, <tc , J. 11. Jevkini. Carletm, August ¥:h, IW6.
