The Serpent’s Hiss.

To the Editor of the Standard. Sir,— Cannot something be done to stop the bissiflg at the Greytowu Entertainments ? Upon several occasions it has occurred, and it has caused considerable annoyance. There are two or three persons who are old enough to know better who take a delight in pretending to “ hush ” the applause, but the •• sh ” is sounded in such a way that it can bo heard distinctly as a hiss. Some of our best performers are greeted with it, and I hope some 'plan will be hit upon to make an example of the offenders.

I am, &0., Order.
