The tone of the wool market is weak, crossbreds being especially noticeable at (d to Id below the prices obtained at the last sales. The catalogue at to-day’s auction comprised 12,000 hal-s. Sir William Vernon Harcourt, Chancellor of the Exchequer, made his budget statement in the House of Commons to-night. The revenue for the financial year just closed amounted to £89,500,000, the expenditure for the same period being £112,250,000, or £2,750,000 more than the revenue. The revenue for the ensuing financial year is estimated at £00,500,000, and the expenditure at £80,875,000. The revenue from Customs and excise on alcoholic beverages for the twelve months was £1,000,000 below the estimate. It is proposed to meet, ‘he deliciency by taking £BOO,OOO from the sinking fund, and no increase ot taxation is contemplated.
April 16. The Great Powers, in replying (o the Sultan’s despatches, promise to take further steps towards the settlement of the difficulty with Greece. Cholera has made its appearance in the South of Italy, 72 cases, including 15 fatal ones, being reported from Brindisi

The Board which was Appointed to examine into the circumstances surrounding the recent alleged imSortatiou of Asiatic cholera i nto the colony by R.M.S. ►orunda, have published their report. They state that the disease was undoubtedly cholera.
