Greytown Working Men’s Club.

To the Editor of the Standard.

Bib,—l regret exceedingly to see a member of tbe committee of the above named club making himself so disagreeably oftnious towards some of its members, and certainly, at times, far exceeding his position and doty. My special ground of complaint is tbi* On a member entering the olob on Saturday evening last with two friends and calling for refreshments for tbe three, to my utter astonishment the member and one of hie friends were supplied, bat the other, although a respectable member of society, and qnite free from drink, was positively refused. I am quite aware no fault rests with the Steward, as he was acting from ordeia received from one of the committee at the time who was then in the billiard room. Tbe same committee man, by his officious, and I may say, nasty conduct, has made tbe club anything bat such a pleasant place of meeting as it is intended. And while on the subject 1 may mention that I never gamble, and as know of late a rale has been passed forbidding gambling, 1 hope the committee, man alluded to has at least the good qoalily of seeing tbe rale strictly enforced. 1 would not trespass on your valuable columns did I not (eel sure that this most useful institution was likely to suffer from such petty conduct. I am, Ac., Stiletto.
