Carterton Town Board.
This Board met at the Council Chambers on Monday afternoon. Present—Messrs B. Fairbrotber (Chairman), Campbell, Allen, Catheter, and Gardener. The clerk read the minutes of the former meeting, which were confirmed. The credit balance was reported as amount, ing to £7 ss. It was resolved that a man be employed to rake off on newly filled-np drain on Main Road between Lawrence’s and Portlands. It wae resolved that tenders be called for metalling portion of Main Boad and forming footpath. Mr G. Gardener proposed, and Mr Allen seconded, That a special meeting be called to receive a deputation of settlers, residing on Lincoln Boad, be called to consider the matter of the proposed bridges thereon. A tender was also received from Mr Walter Hooker for building bridge on Lincoln Boad for the sum of £23. The meeting then terminated.
