Briscoll v Lewis.—Debt £4o—Judgment for plaintiff for amount. | Sullivan v Haggerty—Duck Murder—This case created much amusement. The plaintiff summoned the defendant for the value of a duck, £l, alleged to have been killed by the defendant. Judgment for 3s and costs. J. O’Connor v Mabapuku.—Debt £lo—Judgment for plaintiff for 55., costa remitted. E. Waker v Piripi—Debt £2 IBa. Judgment for amount and costs.

C. Burt v S. Revans.—Wages, £4 18s fid— Judgment for plaintiff. The defendant stated that his only object in refusing the payment of the amount was to bring before the public the cruel treatment his horses had received at the hands of the plaintiff; and the bench informed the latter that had a case of wilful cruelty been sustained, he would have rendered himself liable to severe punishment, as he was himself an eye-witness of the ill-treatment the horses had received at his hands.
