(To the Editor of the Wairabapa Mercury.) Cobb k Co.’s Office, Wellington, Sept. 18, 1867. Dear Sir, —In perusing this morning’s issue of the “New Zealand Times,” I noted a paragraph emanating from your journal to the effect that “ farmer’s complain and truly that if they grow any considerable quantity of oats and potatoes, ‘hey cannot dispose of them.” In reply to this assertion allow me to inform you Mr Editor, that the people of the Wairarapa have not, (much to their disgrace,) grown sufficient oats to supply my little stock of horses on that coast. I can refer to Mr Skipper as to the amount of carriage I have paid to him for the cartage of oats from Wellington to the Wairarapa. I am your’s &c., J. DAVIES.
