RADIO TROUBLES
EFFECT OF POWER LINES. J During a discussion at the meeting of Te Awamutu Electric Power Board yesterday, on the subject of alleged interference with wireless equipment by electric power lines, it was stated that so many complaints had come in which on investigation were proved groundless that'the Board was making a charge where inspection proved that the Board's lines were not the cause ofl the trouble. Since the new system was adopted, complaints were very few. It was added that frequently the Board's staff had been called in and found the radio sets were not properly adjusted; some were put in faultily, and others had gradually developed faults. It was not the duty, on intention, of the Board to carry out repair or adjustment work in competition with private engineers. If the fault was found to be due to the Board's lines the adjustment was made without charge; but if the fault was not caused by the Board's lines it was only reasonable to require payment foal the inspection and adjustment. The Board did not accept responsibility for any inside wiring.
