OBITUARY

' MR ATHOL PORRITT. The many people in Te Awamutu and district who knew him will learn with sincere regret of the death in the Auckland Hospital yesterday morning of Mr Athol Porritt, of the P.W.D. sub-station at Penrose, and formerly of Te Awamutu. From the meagre details to hand,i it appears that Mr Porritt had been in poor health for some time, and entered the hospital for an operation, from which he did not recover. Deceased, who was a son of Mr E. W. Porritt, one of Paeroa's best-known professional men, was married, with two young children. While in Te Awamutu the late Mr Porritt took part in tennis and Debating Society affairs, while in his profession as an engineer he was studious and conscientious —qualities marking him out for promotion. To the widow and family will be extended widespread sympathy in the loss of a loving husband and father.
