WEDDING BELLS

DIXON —ASKEW. At Aratapu, Northern Wairoa, on Tuesday last, the marriage took place, of Lila Louisa, eldest daughter of Mr Askew and the late Mrs Askew to Melville James Alfred, second eldest son of Mr and Mrs A. Dixon, of Pirongia. The ceremony was celebrated at the Methodist Church,t he Rev. Hame& performing thel Iceremjony. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of white crepe de chine with silver lace skirt 'and Brussels lace held in place with a coronet of orange blossoms. A shower bouquet of pink and white anemones was< earned.. The bridesmaids were Miss Kathleen Askew, who wore mauve crepe de chine, and Miss Hope Dixon, in apricot crepe de chine. Both carried bouquets of anemomes to tone and maidenhair fern. Little Hazel Askew as flower girl, was dressed in pale pink crepe de chine and carried crook. Mr Leslie the bridegroom’s brother, was best man, and Mr Ronald Askew, the bride’s brother groomsman. •
