THE RUGBY GAME BINNIE CUP GAME, On Saturday next the Te Awamutu Senior team will journey to 'Hamilton to try conclusions with the City team who are holders of the Binnie Oup. The Cup was donated for competition between the champion Club in each Sub-Union under the jurisdiction of the Waikato Union so that the Club holding the coveted trophy can claim to -be the champion team of the Waikato. Although City have had possesion of the Cup during the past two seasons if Te Awamutu can muster their full strength there is every prospect of them bringing home the trophy, The following team will represent 'Te Awamutu:—P. Quin, White, Winter, Bremner, Kay, Kelly, Grigg, R. Smith, Bayne, Mcßae, F. Quin, Holmes, Wallace, Brisco, Anschutz and Mizen.
ANOTHER WIN FOR HAWKE’S BAY

Hawke’s Bay again successfully defended the Ranfurly Shield against Otago, beating the latter by 34 points to 14. About 4000 spectators were present. There was a stiff breeze and with its help the visitors kept Hawke’s Bay on. the defence and put up 14 points to 3 in the first half. On changing over Hawke's Bay over-ran their opponents and scored much as they liked. For the winners the scorers were Blake (3), Ormond (2), Mill, C. Brownlie and Falwasser. Yates converted two and Grenside three. For Otago Webb got two tries, one of which was converted, and Donnelly kicked two goals from a penalty and a mark.
N.S.W. DEFEAT WAIRARAPA
MASTERTON, This Day
Though the Wairarapa team had just returned undefeated from their southern trip, New South Wales ran all over them to the tune of 38 points to 8. The weather was fine, but the ground greasy after heavy rain. The visiting backs were much too fast and threw the ball about with precision.
THE LEAGUE GAME.
AUCKLAND, This Day.
Queensland’s League team played a drawn game, 18 all, against Auckland. About 6000 were present. A high wind and -frequent rain squalls prevailed. Both teams struggled hard for the decisive point, but the defence was too good-. The scorers for Auckland were Avery (2), Webb and O’Brien. Delgrosso converted two and kicked a penalty goal. For Queensland Frauenfelder, Aynsley, Moores and Steinhart obtained tries, Craig converting three. GREYMOUTH, This Day.
Auckland’s travelling League team defeated West Coast by 22 points to 15 in fine weather and before a good attendance.
Following will represent Parawera Seniors against Pirongia.—Maureoho, Grover,Barton, Kay, Boswell, Williams, Baillie (2), Campbell, Hockly, Jackson, Tongariro, Ashfield Onihe and Hopa.
