WAIKATO HUNT RACES. There were ideal weather conditions for the Waikato Hunt annual race meeting held at Claudelands racecourse vesterday, and the attendance was a record for the meeting. Large fields were the order of the day, but the favourites failed to salute the judge. Miss Rosa brought off the surprise of the day, returning a dividend of over half a century. Results: — Maiden Hunters' Steeplechase: Rafferty 1. Big Ben 2. Kopaka 3. Won easi'lv by two lengths. Time 5.19 3-5. Ba'rdowie Hack Handicap: King Cheops 1, Sans Gene 2, Penitentiary 3. Won by three lengths. Time 1.16 3-5-Hunters' Hurdle Handicap: Miss Rosa 1, Daddy's Girl 2. Flying Nell 3. Won by a length. Time 2.54. Members' Memorial Handicap: Tinohoro and Perfect, Day dead heat, 1, Soulterina 3. A great race up the straight, the judge being unable to separate Perfect Day and Tinohoro. Time 2.11 1-5. Waikato Hunt Cup: Rafferty 1, Glentui 2. Te Toa 3. Won by half a length. Time 6.24 1-5. Farmers' Hack Handicap: Daylight 1. Penitentiary 2, Heisler 3. Won by a neck. Time 1.15 3-5.
