DAIRY PRODUCE. Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd. are in receipt of the following cable from their London office under date of the 18th inst:— Butter: Market very quiet. The total imports ,of butter into the United Kingdom for September, 1923, was 337,000 cwts; total imports for corresponding month last year was 218,000 cwt. We quite New Zealand salted at 1925, Australian g.a.c. 1765, Danish 200 s, fiinest Australian salted 186 s, unsalted 186 s. Cheese: Market steady but quiet. Since our last cable prices are unchanged. Total imports for September 1923 were 199,000 cwt; total imports for corresponding month last year were 256,000. FROZEN MEAT TRADE. Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd. are in receipt of the fqllowing cable from their London office under date of the 18th inst:— New Zealand prime crossbred lamb, Canterbury heavy 9Sd, light 10.? d; North Island heavy 9gd,, light lOd. Demand for N.Z. lamb runs principally on light weights and market weaker. Market looks as if touched bottom and prices may improve. New Zealand prime crossbred mutton, North Island heavy 7d, light Sd. Demand for N.Z. mutton poor and market weak. New Zealand prime ox beef hinds 45(1, fores 3d. Demand for N.Z, beef runs principally on forequarters. Market steady. Crossbred lamb. Australian g.a.c. light 9d; mutton light 3gd. Demand for .Australian lamb limited and for mutton poor.
