JOHN ARBUCKLE’S TRIAL,

(By Telegraph. Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The trial took place in the Supreme Court yesterday of John Arbuckle, exsecretary of the New Zealand Miners’ Federation, charged with the theft of federation money, the total amount being over 1% 000, find with having made a false entry in one of the federation’s record books. There are tern charges in all dealing with specific cheques. Eight represent moneys collected from various unions on behalf of the strikers at Broken Hill, while the remaining represent dues forwarded to the federation by the Pukemiiro Union. Accused was found guilty, and sentence was deferred till the morning.
