ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE SEASON (By Telegraph. Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The New Zealand Rugby Union has reinstated Douglas, an Otago player, who was suspended in 1915. The Union has set apart 24th June for charity day matches. Two selectors, one from each Island, were appointed a selection committee for the New Zealand team to visit New South Wales.
A North v. 'South Island match will be played at Wellington, and Auckland will be given a match against ■he New Zealand team before sailing. Messrs A. Humphries (Taranaki), G. Nicholson (Auckland), and Griffiths (Wellington) were appointed selectors of the North Island team. • Messrs Drake ('Canterbury), D. Stuart (Otago), and another (nominated by the minor unions) will select the South Island representatives.
It was resolved to ask Auckland for an assurance that that Union will play the rules and modifications authorised by the English Rugby Union. An application from the Otago Union for a loan of £ISOO was deferred for further. particulars.
