TE AWAMUTU TOWN BAND.
A meeting of members of the Te Awamutu Town Band took place at the band-room on Tuesday evening last. Twenty-two members attended, Mr J. T. North being voted to the chair. The major part of the evening was devoted to the consideration of several matters affecting the conduct of the bands affairs, and in the drawing up of a set of bylaws. Nominations of officers tor election at the annual meeting were made, and it was resolved that a recommendation go to the annual meeting that distinctive badges be purchased for the officers appointed. The officers nominated were senior and junior sergeants ; senior and junior corporals, lance corporals and librarian. The Alexandra Racing Club wrote offering the band £lO for its services at the race meeting at Pirongia on Boxing Day. The offer was accepted. The Te Awamutu Town Board wrote thanking the Band for its offer to place the moneys in credit of the new instruments fund at the Board's disposal.
