There was a large attendance at the fortnightly euchre social on Wednesday last, and everything passed off very satisfactorily. The euchre prizes were won by MrsE. Thomson and Mrs McCathie, and the gentlemen were Mr J. Sutherland first and Mr W. Slines second.

An inquest was held at the Mental Hospital yesterday morning on a patient who had died at the institution. Mr J. G.' Elmsly acted as coroner, and Mr J. Day was chosen as foreman. A verdict in accordance with the medical testimony that death was due to heart disease was returned.
