What is most unusual at this time of the year is the fall of snow on Pirongia mountain. From Pirongia this morning we are advised that for the last three mornings snow has been seen in the early hours quite low upon the mountains and well within the bounds of settlement.

Ihe Right Hon. W. F. Massey advises Mr J. A. Young, member for the district, that in regard to the requect for a school site at Wharepuhanga the matter is being attended to, and that a survey plan embodying this site has been approved, and will be checked as soon as possible. When this has been done the data required for reservation purposes can be supplied, and the land will then be set apart as a site for a public school, and vested in the Education Board.

As advertised elsewhere in this issue, the Rev. Isaac Jolly, M.A., of Auckland, will deliver a lecture in support of the Bible in State Schools League, in the Town Hall, on Monday next at 8 p.m. The lecturer is an exModerator of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand, and is recognised as one of the foremost speakers in New Zealand on this burning question. He was chosen by the Auckland League to deliver the official reply to Bishop Geary's address on the opposing side. Written questions of a relevant nature are invited.
