PANAMA EXHIBITION.
The Prime Minister, the Right Hon. W. F. Massey, speaking of the Government's intentions regarding the New Zealand exhibit at the Panama Exhibition at San Francisco next year, said :
" The Government have decided that the Dominion shall be represented at the Exhibition, said Mr Massey, " and we are going to ask the assistance of all the people interested in our primary products to make the exhibit worthy of the Dominion. We are going to ask that produce for exhibit shall be sent forward, and the Government will take charge of it and see that it is properly displayed. We propose to undertake also to dispose of the produce to the best advantage after the exhibition is over. We are anxious to make a particularly good display of those articles produced in New Zealand for which there is now a market in the States, such as cheese, butter, wool, frozen meat, and flax. We have under consideration the setting up of an honorary board to assist us in making arrangements for the collecting of produce for the exhibit, and an officer of the Department of Industries and Commerce will be detailed to attend to correspondence and such matters relating to the exhibition."
