RANGIAOHIA ROAD BOARD.

The regular meeting of the Board was i held in Bockett’s buildingS'Op Saturday, the following members being present:— Messrs Cavanagh (chairman), Storey, McGhie, Ramsay, and the Board’s engineer, Mr W. H. Mandeno. Minutes., • • The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. McCabe’s Road. The chairman announced that he had inspected this road with Mr Storey, and read a letter from Mr Turney offering to take the old road in exchange for a new one to be opened up through his property. It was resolved that the matter be held over until further information had been obtained from Messrs McCabe and Platt.

Accommodation at Ngaroto. Mr Young, forwarded a letter from the Hon. W. H. Herries statin-g that the application for a metal site at Ngaroto was rcceiv- . ing attention.

Correspondence. A letter was received from Messrs A. H. and A. L. Storey and G. E. Churches asking for permission to erect a telephone to Te Rahu. Granted. A letter was read from Mr ErnXpt Potts asking the Board to form the road leading to his residence from the mam OhaupoTe’Awamutu road, arid for about 7 chains past it, and also offering to contribute £5 towards repair of swamp road. It was resolved that the formation of the road be taken in hand when the - grader was available, but that the matter of the swamp road,be held over; until the end of the summer. A letter was read from Mr Young, M.P., in reply to the Board’s protest against the aboli-

tion of Road Boards, promising -A to bring the matter before the Government. . A letter whs read from the un-der-secretary for internal affairs, stating that the Board’s representations in the matter of the abolition of Road Boards had been noted and would receive consideration when , the question of local Government was under review. Pollard’s Bridge. It was resolved that Mr Mandeno be instructed to have the necessary work to this bridge done at once. Glasson’s Hill. Mr Ramsay reported an interview he had had with Mr Clarke who stated that the Puahue settlers had guaranteed £SO and Mr Mathers £lO towards making the cutting. It was resolved that Mr Mandeno be instructed to see to the matter at once.
