WAIPA GUN CLUB.

The competition for C. H. Baker and Co.'s trophy took place on the Gun Club's grounds on Wednesday afternoon. There was a fair attendance of spectators considering that the opening of the Polo Club's season was a counter attraction. Nine competitors entered for the trophy and the shooting was again of a high standard. B. Wheeler 17 yards and W. Bell 16 yards tied with ten birds each, Wheeler winning in the shoot-off. The match was a 12-bird contest, the following are the scores :

After the trophy shoot a sixbird sweepstake was shot for, L. Garland, 14yds, winning with the highest score possible, namely, six kills.
