KAKEPUKU.

The new school building at Kakepuku was opened last Monday, and is only one sign of the advancement of this district. The school was built to accommodate fifty pupils, but judging by the way the numbers have been increasing, it will certainly need enlarging in the near future. On the afternoon of the opening clay the mothers treated the children to a surprise party. Tea and cakes were handed round, and needless to say were greatly appreciated, especially by the darker race.
